The EAS project started in 2013 as a concept to create a European Society of Aligner users who shared core interests in aligner therapy but who also had different local realities. The idea started with colleagues from the main European countries and a founding board was established whose members are Dr. Les Joffe, Dr. Graham Gardner, Dr. Clemens Fricke, Dr. Alain Souchet, Dr. Tommaso Castroflorio, Dr. Francesco Garino and Dr. Juan Carlos Rivero who represent the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
Board of directors:
Dr. Graham Gardner, President – UK
I am a specialist orthodontist with 22 years of clinical experience and 10 years’ teaching experience. My philosophy is to provide treatment that balances the science and art elements of leading-edge orthodontics, resulting in better dental function and good facial aesthetics. I am a strong believer in harnessing technological advances to improve treatment, administration and communication using Invisalign since 2001.
Graham Gardner qualified as a dentist in 1984 and as a specialist orthodontist in 1991 at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. Since then he has been involved exclusively in orthodontic practices in South Africa and in the UK. Graham has been using Invisalign since it was first introduced to the UK and has been awarded the prestigious Diamond Invisalign Provider status.
Graham is a clinical speaker for Align Technology where he runs Invisalign accreditation and master classes for dentists, orthodontists and consultants in the UK and Ireland and also provides one-on-one mentoring for a group of Irish specialist orthodontists. He represents the UK on the European Clinical Advisory Board for Align Technology.
He is a member of the British General Dental Council; the Specialist Practitioner Group of the British Orthodontic Society and is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists and is a past president of the Eastern Cape Branch of the South African Dental Association. I am a specialist orthodontist with 37 years experience of clinical practice and teaching. My journey with Invisalign started in 2001 and I have experienced other aligner treatments along that journey. I have also been involved with Associations for the past 20 years and believe strongly that the strength of a profession lies in coming together as a community, sharing ideas and improving itself from within.
Les Joffe completed his dental training in 1970 and his 3-year post-graduate orthodontic training at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1976. He spent 1977 taking the Tweed course and tutoring at the Tweed Foundation in the USA. Dr. Tommaso Castroflorio, Communication and Research – ITALY
I’m a specialist orthodontist and a researcher. I work with passion and energy in both the clinical and the research settings. I love teaching and new technologies: this is the reason why I wrote several scientific papers in order to try to contribute to the knowledge about orthodontics and oral physiology. In my clinical practice I love evidence based orthodontics. EAS could be the right non-profit project that Orthodontics needs in order to obtain sound evidence supporting aligner therapies.
Tommaso is an Orthodontist living and working in Torino, Italy. He obtained his DDS degree from the University of Torino and from the same University he obtained the postgraduate degree in Orthodontics. He was always involved in research and following this passion, he travelled a lot across Europe and he received a PhD degree in Human Anatomy fro the University of Milan, Italy.
Since 2003 he has a private practice in Torino where he focused his work on orthodontics and temporomandibular disorders. I am a specialist orthodontist with 25 years of clinical experience and 12 years’ teaching experience. We use aligners since the first start in Europe and believe in the benefits of this system, as we are also engaged in Lingual Orthodontics and Selfligating Systems.

Dr. Alain Souchet, Education – FRANCE
I’m an avid user of any 3D technologies in orthodontics – I am frequently volunteers with R&D to test materials and softwares – my dream-practice would be having a comprehensive workflow transferring data between all 3D and CAD-CAM technologies …
Alain was awarded a post graduate certificate in Stomatology, with Professeur Michelet, in Bordeaux. He then went to Professeur Jean Delaire’s Unit in Nantes, and received a Diploma in Dento-Maxillo-Facial Orthopedics from the University. In the late 80s, Alain opened a practice in Bordeaux for orthodontic treatment of children and adults (lingual and invisible). In 2000 he left Bordeaux and took over the practice of a retiring colleague in Mulhouse.
Alain works with adult orthodontics, meaning pluridisciplinary treatments in collaboration with the patient’s general dentist, in order to find periodontal, dental, prosthetic, implantologic and surgical solutions.
